SAVE THIS DATE!!
Is it easy being green? Is it sufficient to switch to fluorescent light bulbs and turn off the water when we brush our teeth? Is wind power worth the cost? Is nuclear energy worth the risk? Does ethanol buy us cleaner air or just cheaper gas and more expensive corn?
Sunday, March 2, Picnic for Peace is sponsoring an energy forum to explore these and related issues so that we ordinary citizens can be better informed and can make better choices for our future. The keynote speaker will be Dr. John Byrne, Director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy at the University of Delaware and a participant with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize jointly with Al Gore. Panel members will also include Ali Mirzakhalili, air quality program administrator with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental control, and representatives from Kent County and the City of Dover.
We invite (your organization) to join our forum as a co-sponsor. Again, the date is Sunday, March 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Boscov’s auditorium at the Dover Mall. Co-sponsorship would simply involve permission for Picnic for Peace to use your organization’s name in publicity for the event and any help you can give us to advertise the event through your organization’s newsletter or other regular membership contacts. Other organizations invited as co-sponsors include area colleges and universities, environmental advocacy groups, and the local press.

Thinking about summer...
Next winter, we could have our indoor picnic supplied by local food sources if we follow the advice and examples of this book!

Kathy brought this to our attention last year and we're passing it around. We recommend this highly!!!
